Thanksgiving Traditions.

As the holidays fast approach us it is time for us to  dig out the recipe box and find that special recipe for Grandma's Pecan Pie or  maybe it's Aunt Mable's Cornbread dressing.  What are some of the Traditions  around your home this time of the year? In my house I cook the turkey. I have for several years . And when I cook it , I do it much different than most. I cook mine In a paper bag. No it will not catch fire. That is the question  I get most often.  Wash your bird , then place him in a large paper back that you can get at the grocery store. Just ask one of the check out ladies up front they usually have to problem with handing you one. Once its in the bag you take squeeze butter and put some in the bird then I give him a good rub down all over. Once I have rubbed in him in butter inside and out . I then sprinkle : Salt, Pepper, Seasoning salt and Garlic on him . Then you place the bagged bird into a roasting pan. I use  the blue ones  and cook him according to directions. Checking him often and squeezing more butter into your bag.  While he is cooking you can start to prepare your other side dishes.
The Night before I bake all my pies , or at least I  try to depends on what else is going on. I  boil the eggs for the deviled eggs  and get all my prep work out of the way. I also try to take this time to make some of my appetizers . Some of my most well received are the pinwheels I make with ham and green onions. .   This is the time also that I make up my rolls and get them to rising over night so that the next day I can put them in straight into the oven just a little bit before dinner so they are served Hot and fresh.  What are some of your favorite dishes to serve during Thanksgiving Dinner?  Not to forget the turkey  but once it is done it will come out very moist and juicy and falling off the bone.  If you are interested in any of the recipes that I use please feel to ask. I'll be happy to share with you !
